Royal fans are expressing similar sentiments about a new Prince William documentary. Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, is set to air this week on ITV and ITVX on October 30 and 31 at 9 pm.
It follows the future monarch as he champions his Homewards initiative, a project launched last year to address homelessness in the UK. The prince has previously spoken about his motivation for the project, citing the influence of his late mother, Princess Diana.
And as fans learn more about the documentary, many are making direct comparisons about William and his mother, according to the Express. Diana was known for her compassionate work with the homeless and many said she would be “proud” of him.

One fan wrote on Instagram “William is truly his mother’s son”, while another said: “She would be so proud of you and your work.”
Another user added: “Prince William, well done for following your heart and carrying forward your mother’s legacy. She must be so proud watching from heaven and cheering you on.”
One admirer even referred to William as the “People’s King”, writing, “People’s Princess is now People’s King. Diana would be so proud.” The first episode of the programme will air on ITV1 and ITVX, as well as STV and STV Player.
In the programme, William says: “I have taken some inspiration and guidance from what my mother did, particularly with homelessness. That has grown more over the last few years.
“When I was very small my mother started talking about homelessness – much like I do now with my children on the school run.”
