It has emerged now, as Kate returns to the fold, that she sees Lady Louis Windsor as a valuable member of The Firm. The 21-year-old is a private university student who does not crave the royal spotlight but Princess Kate and Prince William view Lady Louise Windsor as a “real asset”, royal sources have claimed.
The Princess of Wales, 42, is known to have a very close relationship with Louise’s mother, the Duchess of Edinburgh. Sources claim that Kate has “enormous admiration” for Sophie’s parenting skills, and it is an approach Kate is trying to adopt with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

A family friend told The Mail: “She’s an absolutely delightful young woman and would be a real asset.” Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh told The Times in 2020: “We try to bring them up with the understanding they are very likely to have to work for a living.
“Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely.” The 21-year-old granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II studies at the University of St Andrew, the Alma Mater of her cousin Prince William and his wife Princess Catherine of Wales.
The young royal who grew up in the lavish Bagshot Park in Surrey – alongside her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh – did not have to slum it when she started her English degree. Although she is thought to now live in a shared house with friends, she is reported to have lived at St Salvator’s Hall in her first year of studies – and this place isn’t your typical student accommodation.
