Royal Mail issues warning to customers in more than 50 UK postcodes amid Christmas shopping deliveries

Royal Mail has issued a warning that some customers may experience longer than usual delivery times due to severe weather disruptions. The postal service utilises an air, rail and road network to transport post and parcels between distribution hubs and processing centres.

However, the normal travel route for letters and parcels has been disrupted by severe weather, which led to red and amber weather warnings on Saturday, December 7. A statement from Royal Mail read: “Strong winds delayed the departure of mail travelling from our Midland Hub to Exeter and Cardiff.”

“As a result, some mail posted in other parts of the UK, due for delivery in the EX and CF postcode areas may arrive later than planned.”

In addition, red weather warnings in England and Wales have caused delays in mail’s departure from the south-west of England parcel hub to Cardiff and Swansea.

Customers have been warned that some mail posted yesterday in other parts of the UK to Cardiff (CF) and Swansea (SA) postcode areas may be delayed. The same warnings apply to post due for delivery in certain Bristol and Dorset postcodes, reports the Express.
