If you haven’t posted your Christmas cards yet, it’s time to start thinking about it, if you want them to arrive before Christmas Day. The Royal Mail has announced that Wednesday, December 18, will be the last day second class post can be expected to arrive before December 25.
First class post should be okay as long as its posted by Friday, December 20, and after that only the pricier options – Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Special Delivery Guaranteed items will get there on time.
Meanwhile, Yodel has announced on its website the last dates for posting parcels. To have a parcel arrive before Christmas Day, Monday, December 16, is the last shipping day for Yodel parcels.

After Christmas Day, there will no Yodel collections or deliveries until Saturday, December 28.
Meanwhile, Evri is urging consumers to send their Christmas gifts as early as possible. The company recently added seven more Post Office branches to its parcel drop-off network in Leicester.
The last day for Evri courier collections is Thursday, December 19, and the deadline to send standard delivery parcels from a ParcelShop is 11am on Friday, December 20. Parcels sent by next-day delivery need to be at the ParcelShop by 11am the following day – Saturday, December 21 – to get there in time for Christmas.
The company, which has 180 parcel drop-off locations around Leicester, said: “Evri is urging Leicester consumers that are planning to send Christmas gifts home and abroad not to leave it to the last minute – with the final cut-off point for next-day parcels to be dropped off at a ParcelShop by 11am on December 21.”
The company said its expansion was going well. It said: “By the end of October, the business will have more than 16,800 locations nationwide to send, collect or return parcels, including Post Office branches, Tesco Express stores, lockers and many independent convenience stores, allowing busy customers to send their parcels at their convenience.
“This follows Evri’s groundbreaking announcement in November last year that it was partnering with Post Office for consumers to send Evri parcels at the counter of more than 2,000 Post Office branches nationwide for the first time in the Post Office’s 360-year history.
“By the end of October, less than a year on from the start of the partnership, and in preparation for the festive season, the number of Post Office branches that accept Evri parcels will total more than 3,200 across the UK.”
