MP Dan Norris dropped into the Royal Mail’s Keynsham Delivery Office to say ‘thank you’ to local postmen and women at their busiest time of the year.
On his early morning visit to the centre in Ashton Way, the Labour MP for North East Somerset & Hanham talked with staff about how they deal with the huge increase in deliveries of parcels and cards during the Christmas period.
He was shown around the Ashton Way delivery office by Royal Mail manager, Christopher Harris.
“It is always good to be able to say a festive ‘thank you’ to local postmen and women who do so much to help friends and families stay in touch at this time of year,” said Mr Norris.
Around twice as many parcels and letters are sent through Royal Mail during the festive period compared with other months, as people send Christmas cards and shop for gifts online.
