Primark has issued an urgent recall of a popular kids bags which poses a choking risk. Primark, which has its world’s biggest store right here in Birmingham, has moved to urgently withdraw the product from sale and is warning shoppers and customers nationwide.
Primark is asking shoppers to bring back two types of plush bags that don’t meet safety standards. Primark has issued an urgent recall of two types of Lilo and Stitch-themed kids bags and says the bags come in two colours – blue and purple.
It has been identified that the zip puller on the bags can detach — creating a small part that poses a choking hazard if swallowed by young children, according to Trading Standards. If you have one of these bags, you can return it to any Primark store for a full refund.

Customers do not need a receipt or proof of purchase. Kimball Numbers are 2056301 for Stitch and 9270801 for Angel. The items’ sale period was between March 2024 to October 2024.
Primark said: “We’re recalling our children’s products “Primark DTR Plush Bag Stitch” and “Primark DTR Plush Bag Angel”, shown above, as we’ve learned they do not meet our usual high safety standards. There is a risk that the zip puller may become detached from the products, which can be a potential choking and/or ingestion hazard.”
The product details have been given as Primark® DTR Plush Bag Stitch (Kimball no. 2056301) and Primark® DTR Plush Bag Angel (Kimball no. 9270801). Trading Standards has also issued a warning on its website, via the Office for Product Safety and Standards.
It said: “The product presents a risk of choking as the zip puller can become detached, producing a small part. Corrective action: The product has been recalled from end users.” It added: “The products present a risk of choking as it has been identified that the zip puller can become detached from the bags, producing a small part. The small part may be placed in the mouth and swallowed, which could lead to a young child ingesting the zip or choking.
“The products do not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.”
