Ahead of Christmas, Royal Mail has released crucial information for people looking to send parcels and presents across the UK at the last minute. The postal service is advising: “Please try to arrive at least an hour before the Post Office closes. No later than 4.30pm even if the Post Office has a later closing time. No later than 11am if the Post Office has a half-day closing time.”
With the countdown to Christmas ticking away, there’s still a narrow window to use the Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed service to ensure gifts reach their destination on time. Royal Mail prides itself on operating a comprehensive network utilising air, rail, and road to circulate letters and parcels between its distribution points, processing centres and delivery offices within the UK, reports Birmingham Live.
In delivering these updates, they’ve noted that all major logistics operations – air, rail, and road networks – have run to schedule over the past 24 hours. Moreover, they confirmed: “Our Mail Centres reported mail was processed and despatched to schedule over the past 24-hours.”
Unfortunately, for most options, the ship has sailed: Royal Mail has announced all but one of the ultimate posting dates for this year have gone by, especially for second class and signed-for services, whose deadline was Wednesday, December 18.
The Royal Mail has confirmed that its deadlines for first class, first class signed for, and Royal Mail Tracked 48 deliveries have already passed last week on Friday, December 20. Additionally, the deadline for Royal Mail Tracked 24 also passed on Sunday, December 21.
The Royal Mail emphasised that its Christmas delivery dates and deadlines have been available for weeks.
