Royal Mail reveals stamps celebrating The Vicar of Dibley

The series, which aired from 1994 to 2007, was set in the fictional Oxfordshire village of Dibley and is considered one of the UK’s most successful comedies.

It features Dawn French as the witty vicar, Geraldine Granger, who was created by writers Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer.

David Gold, director of external affairs and policy at Royal Mail, said: “The superb writing and the warmth and idiosyncrasies of its characters made The Vicar of Dibley one of the most loved TV comedies of all time.

“We celebrate the series with new stamps revisiting some of the show’s classic moments.”

As well as the 12 individual staps revealed today (January 9) by Royal Mail, a further four stamps presented in a miniature sheet show a Dibley Parish Council meeting.

A presentation pack including all 12 stamps is priced at £20.10.

The stamps will go on general sale from January 14, but are available to pre-order, alongside a range of collectible products, from today.
