King Charles’ ex sparks fears she’ll dish the dirt on ‘special person’ in new autobiography

Susan George, known for her role in the violent 1971 Sam Peckinpah film ‘Straw Dogs’, is stirring speculation with the forthcoming release of her autobiography, provisionally titled ‘I Can Do Better’.

King Charles’ ex-flame is said to be prompting concerns that she will reveal details about their past relationship. The Daily Mail reported last month that Susan had a series of dates with the now-king during the 1970s, and she referred to Charles as “Sir”.

This comes on the heels of Prince Harry’s sensational memoir, ‘Spare’. At an event at the PizzaExpress Jazz Club in Soho, Susan announced: “I am writing my book. It should be out by the end of this year.”

She went on to remark: “I have been looking at my diaries and when I look back, I cannot believe how many films I made in one year. I made four once in one year back-to-back. I was so lucky.”

In addition to her acting career, which includes films like ‘Mandingo’, ‘Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry’, and ‘That Summer of White Roses’, Susan is currently dedicated to breeding Arabian horses.

In 2023, the Mail reported that despite denying their romance publicly, Susan called Charles her “special individual” in conversations with friends, reports the Express.

Lord Mountbatten once advised Charles to “sow his wild oats” before settling down, and indeed, the King’s younger years were marked by a series of relationships. He was linked with Lucia Santa Cruz, Lady Jane Wellesley, Davina Sheffield, Lady Amanda Knatchbull, and Sabrina Guinness.

Before his marriage to Princess Diana in 1981, Charles also dated her sister, Lady Sarah Spencer, with the media dubbing his former flames “Charlie’s Angels”.

Charles’s admiration for Barbra Streisand was well-known; he praised her “dazzling, effervescent talent”. The Yentl star herself acknowledged their friendship, jokingly remarking, “I had a very funny line on stage when he came to see [my] show. I said, ‘You know, if I played my cards right, I could have wound up being the first Jewish princess! ‘”.

After his divorce from Diana in 1996 and her subsequent tragic death in a car accident with Dodi Fayed on August 31, 1997, Charles married Camilla in Windsor on April 9, 2005.
