Live travel chaos as all lines blocked to key Liverpool train station

A statement from National Rail on this incident: “A fault on a train at Liverpool South Parkway means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.”

The rail body has advised that the following routes are currently affected:

Avanti West Coast between Liverpool Lime Street and London Euston

East Midlands Railway between Liverpool Lime Street and Norwich / Nottingham

London Northwestern Railway between Liverpool Lime Street and Birmingham New Street

Merseyrail between Ormskirk and Hunts Cross

Northern between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road / Warrington Central and

TransPennine Express between Liverpool Lime Street and Cleethorpes

Transport for Wales between Liverpool Lime Street and Chester
