Halbeath Filling Station in Dunfermline could be upgraded under plans

The station is located near East End Park on Halbeath Road and owned by the company Penny Petroleum.

It wants to reopen the car wash and demolish the existing forecourt, which the company says is currently in poor condition.

A new canopy would then be erected, which would consist of a galvanised steel structure, with a steel fascia and roof deck.

Plans also include new parking spaces, pump islands, underground tanks, and an interceptor.

The company also confirmed that the existing pedestrian route along the eastern side of the shop would be maintained under the plans.

It comes after previous plans had to be amended because they showed that the popular walking route would be shut off, leading to 27 objections.

Eventually the company put it down to an “error” in the drawings.

The Royal Mail Post Office Counter and Services would be maintained if plans go through.
