Drink drive arrest over damaged vehicle on A10 near Ely

During their patrols across East Cambridgeshire, they seized a vehicle and reported the driver near Stretham for having no tax.

Officers also spotted a vehicle with front end damage on the A10 near Ely and, as a result, pulled it over.

The driver, who was found to have been drinking alcohol, was arrested after they blew over the legal limit at the roadside.

RCAT also removed a Royal Mail van from the road in Isleham to avoid obstruction following concerns from members of the public about it being stolen. Checks revealed it had broken down.  

They also reported a driver in Whittlesford after he concentrated more on his phone then the road ahead of him and failed to notice the marked police car and lights behind him.

The team also discovered an uninsured vehicle, which also wasn’t taxed and the driver was disqualified. The vehicle was seized and the driver reported.
