Police are hunting a shoplifter after £100 of stock was stolen from a town centre store. The thief – wearing black jogging bottoms – struck at a shop in Leek’s Derby Street.
The alarm was raised at around 2.30pm on Wednesday (April 16). Now Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses as they try to trace the suspect who was aged around 40 to 45 years old with a slim build and grey hair.
A force spokesman said: “We are appealing for information after around £100-worth of stock was taken from a shop in Leek. Officers were called to Derby Street at around 2.30pm yesterday on Wednesday following reports of a man entering the shop and taking items without paying. He was wearing a blue jacket, black jogging bottoms and grey trainers.”
