Emmerdale viewers are speculating that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) has a secret ally who’s aiding him in concealing the truth about Nate Robinson’s demise.
In recent instalments of the ITV drama, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) unearthed that his half-brother John had paid a visit to Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) just before he was discovered dead.
As fans are aware, John stumbled upon Owen near death and chose not to offer any medical help, instead opting to pin Nate’s death on him via a suicide note containing a comprehensive confession.
As Robert’s doubts about John intensified, he reached out to Owen’s brother Steve for more information. On Thursday (July 24), Steve verified to Robert that he was with his brother Owen on the day Nate passed away, thereby proving he wasn’t responsible for the crime.

Robert was taken aback by this revelation, but quickly became frustrated when Steve stated he had no plans to share this information with the police.
Steve’s hesitation to exonerate Owen for Nate’s death stemmed from his involvement in an illicit job with Owen, which he didn’t want the police to discover. Robert brushed aside Steve’s worries and promptly made his way to the police station on Friday (July 25), reports Belfast Live.
Regrettably, Robert was met with a disinterested DC Cole (Philip Hill-Pearson). He highlighted that Robert’s allegation isn’t particularly solid, as it originates from him and not Steve.
Cole then got in touch with Steve and came back to ‘demonstrate’ to Robert that he was being dishonest. Steve had informed the officer that he was at a birthday celebration on the day Nate passed away, and didn’t know Owen’s whereabouts.

Robert was extremely irritated by Steve’s sudden alteration of his account, and DC Cole cautioned him to cease investigating Owen’s demise.
However, some Emmerdale viewers are certain that DC Cole is collaborating with John to hide the truth about Nate’s death.
One individual posted on Facebook: “I almost thought that copper was in on it with John, they way he was so aggressive with Robert. And did he leave Rob in that interview room the whole time whilst he interviewed Owens brother, John and Liam ? ? ? Don’t think he was very professional.”

Another commented: “I wouldn’t be surprised if that copper working for that John,” while another added: “I was disappointed by the copper. I hope he finds out soon.
“Just tell Cain Robert , as if the copper would speak to him like that at such a serious allegation,” one viewer insisted.
Meanwhile, another pointed out: “Surely they’d at least go and have a word with him”, as suspicion among viewers heightens.
