The Fitness Hub, currently based at Claremont House on Leed Street in Sandown, has announced the unique gym’s long-awaited expansion.
Business partners Lyssa Truman and Rosie Brooman will be transforming the old Royal Mail Post/Delivery Office on Beachfield Road into a purpose-built hub for women of all ages and abilities to come together, get stronger and support one another.
The new site is expected to open its doors in early September

“We’ve completely outgrown our little gym,” said Lyssa.
“Our wonderful customers, friends, and family have been so patient, but now the time is officially right!
“We are one big, slightly bonkers but utterly brilliant Fitness Hub family, and we cannot wait to share our next chapter with you!”
The original home of The Fitness Hub first opened in January 2022, founded by Lyssa, who previously spent over 30 years as a health and fitness coordinator at The Heights Leisure Centre.

Just over a year ago, Rosie Brooman – a well-known and successful swimmer on the Island – joined as a business partner.
Since then, the gym has earned a devoted following and was recently shortlisted for County Press Gym of the Year 2025.
Currently, all classes are tailored for women only – though Rosie hints there may be more offerings in the future.
“Fellas… don’t go too far,” she teased in an announcement.
“Something may be brewing just for you.”

Lyssa and Rosie say they are building something truly special and are calling on the community to help spread the word.
“Tell your mates and your mums and your workmates – because what we’re building is going to be something really special,” Lyssa said.
