SQA warns of delays in receiving exam results by post

The Scottish Qualification Agency (SQA) issued an urgent warning about the delivery of exam results in several parts of the country on Tuesday, August 5.

In particular, Royal Mail has confirmed there will be delays in deliveries to the Outer Hebrides, Orkney, and Shetland due to the adverse weather.

Further localised delays ‘may occur at short notice’.

The SQA is advising affected candidates that if they want to know their results, they should contact their school or college in the first instance.

Alternatively, students can submit an enquiry via the SQA’s website HERE.

These will be responded to by a member of the SQA’s team after midday on Tuesday, August 5.

The SQA went on to note that it is not anticipating any impact on the MySQA text and email service.

A spokesperson for the accreditation body said: “Due to the widespread disruption caused by Storm Floris, Royal Mail has confirmed that there will be delays to the delivery of SQA results in several parts of Scotland.

“In particular, we know deliveries to the Outer Hebrides, Orkney, and Shetland will be delayed due to the adverse weather.

“Further localised delays to deliveries may occur at short notice. If any affected candidates wish to know their results, they should contact their school or college in the first instance who should be able to help them.

“Alternatively, learners can submit an enquiry via our website and their query will be responded to by our team after 12pm on Tuesday, August 5. 

“We are not anticipating any impact on the MySQA text and email service.”
