Today in History – August 8: How a ketchup bottle brought great train robbers to justice

On August 8, 1992, Metallica singer and guitarist James Hetfield suffered second and third-degree burns during a pyrotechnics explosion on stage at Olympic Stadium, Montreal.

Hetfield was rushed to hospital and the concert was paused.

But the delay didn’t go down with fans who began rioting that culminated in looting, smashed windows, fires, and arrests by police.
