The amazing Superman was the world’s first Superhero. Superman, the Man of Steel, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, made his first appearance in 1938 in Action Comics #1. Born Kal-El on the distant planet Krypton, he was sent to Earth as an infant in a rocket to order to escape Krypton’s destruction. Rescued by a kindly couple, he was raised in Smallville, USA. Kal-El adopts the persona of Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter, but as Superman he possesses superhuman abilities, including strength, flight, and invulnerability.
