Update issued on Witney man who went missing this morning

Thames Valley Police launched a search party and widespread appeal to find Ian, who was last seen at around 6.30am in Winfield Drive, Witney.

The 53-year-old, whose surname was not disclosed, had last been seen wearing a bright coloured Royal Mail jacket, and carrying a white carrier bag.

But at around 2pm the same day, he was found, Thames Valley Police confirmed.

A spokesman said: “Missing person Ian, aged 53, from Witney was located safe and well this afternoon.

“Thank you to everyone who shared our post to help locate him.”

Police guidance states a missing person will not be in trouble with officers when they are found.
