Princess Eugenie ignores Prince Andrew’s new Epstein scandal in post | Royal | News

In the interview with Emily Maitlis, Andrew had said he ceased contact with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in December 2010.

However, The Sun and The Mail On Sunday have now seen an email sent by the Duke of York to Epstein in February 2011.

This email was sent a day after a photo of Andrew and Virginia Giuffre – who accused the duke of sexual assault – was shared in the media.

Andrew has always denied the claims made by Giuffre, who died earlier this year.

As reported by The Sun, the email – which was sent on February 28, 2011 from Andrew’s official email account – reads: “I’m just as concerned for you! Don’t worry about me! It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it.”

The Sun reports that the prince also reportedly wrote to Epstein “”keep in close touch” and “we’ll play some more soon!!!!”

Princess Eugenie has not addressed her father’s latest scandal, which comes just weeks after it emerged her mum Sarah Ferguson had also emailed Epstein in 2011 and called him her “supreme friend” after he had been released from prison for child sex offences.

A spokesperson for Sarah, Duchess of York, said this email was only sent as the duchess feared Epstein was going to sue her for defamation after she criticised him in a previous interview.

The Duke of York has been contacted for comment on the latest scandal.
