Kate Middleton’s four-word remark to Queen Camilla as she struggles to hide emotions

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton were among the senior members of the Royal Family who attended the Remembrance Day service in London on Sunday

Following King Charles’s leading the nation in a two-minute silence to commemorate those who died in conflict during Sunday’s poignant Remembrance Day ceremony, the monarch’s wife, Queen Camilla, and Kate Middleton found it challenging to conceal their genuine emotions.

The duo observed the proceedings side by side from the balcony of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, which overlooks the Cenotaph.

They witnessed wreaths being placed by the King, his heir Prince William, and additional Royal Family members, together with leading politicians and high commissioners representing Commonwealth nations.

During the wreath-laying ritual, the pair seemed to exchange a private moment of amusement.

Catherine’s four-word inquiry to Camilla, which has been revealed by a lip reader, caused the Queen to mask her expression using a programme provided to those in attendance, reports the Express.

Lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman revealed that the Princess of Wales, sporting a smile, turned towards the Queen and enquired: “Did you see it?”.

The Queen responded by glancing at Catherine with a knowing expression, before swiftly shielding her mouth from sight as she offered a short response to the Princess.

What precisely the pair had witnessed during the ongoing wreath-laying ceremony beneath the balcony remains unknown, though Catherine continued to share amusement with Camilla afterwards.

The royal pair ultimately regained their composure after the lighthearted moment and returned their attention to observing the remainder of the service. Kate and Camilla, both donned in all-black attire with poppies pinned, were also accompanied on the balconies by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh was spotted wiping away tears as she observed the moving ceremony.

An emotional Sophie stood alongside the recently bereaved Duke of Kent, proudly watching her husband Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, as he laid his wreath next to the memorial.

Princess Anne was notably missing from the event and did not appear alongside her brothers, King Charles and Prince Edward, as she is currently on a tour of Australia and Singapore with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

The Princess Royal instead commemorated the occasion by attending a Remembrance Service in Sydney, where she laid a wreath at the Anzac Memorial.
