‘Armed’ man scares people near busy Plymouth car boot sale

Police say the location was “very busy at the time”

A man who looked to be armed with a weapon allegedly threatened two people near a car boot sale in Plymouth.

The incident was reported at around 11.20am on Sunday, October 26 on Stuart Road.

Police said a shop worker, who was in the Premier convenience shop near the roundabout with Alma Road, came out of the shop and ran down the road towards the bridge.

The worker stopped a member of the public to say that someone had stolen items from the shop.

An unknown man, thought to be the same man suspected of stealing from the shop, approached the shop worker and member of the public. He then threatened the two people, according to police.

The victims were concerned that the man had been armed with a weapon of sorts as he had his hand over his pocket while threatening to harm them.

The police, in a post on the Plymouth Police page on Facebook, said a nearby car boot sale was busy at the time.

The force are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen something to get in contact.
