How it works

Write your cards as usual (full name, house number, street and postcode). Place each card plus the 40p payment into one of the Scout post boxes listed below. Scouts and Explorer Scouts will deliver by hand across Wantage, Grove and nearby villages. The service is local; cards outside the delivery area should go via Royal Mail.

The Scouts thank all the local businesses that host the post boxes each year.

Where to post your cards (Scout Post boxes)

  • Charlton Post Office (Barnards Way)
  • Campbells Opticians
  • Charlton Park Garden Centre
  • Co-op Kingsgrove

Areas covered

Wantage, Grove, Challow, Hanney and surrounding villages. (Coverage is local; delivery times may vary and may not be as fast as Royal Mail.)

Why it matters

Every card helps fund activities for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. In a recent year the scheme handled around 6,500 cards, raising over £1,900 for local Scouting — money that goes straight back into camps, badges and skills for young people.
