New competition for darts league

A new competition was on the cards for Spalding and District Darts on Monday night.

The teams at the AGM asked for a new style cup during the season so a 301 double in double out blind pairs comp was held.

This meant any player could draw any other player whatever team or league they are in.

There was a good attendance and organisers said so many positive comments were pleasing.

On to the darts and there were some upsets through the night but on the run to the final 14-year-old Connor McKenzie was playing great darts and hit a fine 135 check out finishing on the bull in one of his games.

There were 180s all over the night.

A special mention to Ryan Munton on hitting a pressured 180 when 2-2 in one of his games.

The final was Tom Burton (Ship Long Sutton Division 2) and Robin Williams (Holbeach Services B Division 3) who lost 3-0 to Jack Chilvers (Consti A Division 1) and Ryan Munton (Holbeach Services B Division 3).
Chilvers and Munton are the first ever champions and deserved it through the night.

* The preliminary rounds of both cup competitions were played this week in the Crowson Volkswagen, Pinchbeck and District Winter Darts League.

In the Knockout Cup, the Royal Mail Cart advanced with a 5-1 win over the Drayman’s Arms, despite a 180 from Scott O’Connell.

Consti Club D defeated Consti Club A 6-3, with Riley and Nick Collins sealing the victory.

Chris Mumby stood out for the A side, hitting a 116 checkout in his singles win over Dean Drage.

Lincoln Arms C eased through with an 8-1 home win against Green Dragon C.

Adam Rear had the lone success for the visitors.

Consti Club C also recorded an 8-1 victory, beating Pinchbeck FC C.

Josh Faulkner’s 2-0 defeat to Jay Vernalls left the Football Club with just one success on the night.

There were 180s for Harry Faulkner, Jimmy Robinson and Jordan Philpott all of the Consti.

In the H&H Cup for Division B sides, league leaders Kirton Leisure won 6-3 away to Services Club A, Mark Ledger hitting a 180.

The standout performance of the week came from Consti Club Z, who produced a 9-0 whitewash against the Pied Calf.

Mick Atkin starred with a 16-dart leg.
