Toys R Us returns to Chelmsford with free family friendly opening event

It will open inside a Hobbycraft

Hobbycraft, the UK’s largest arts and crafts retailer, has announced the arrival of Toys R Us inside its popular Chelmsford retail park store. The launch forms part of a national rollout across six UK stores, bringing the much-loved toy brand back to local communities.

The launch will come with an exciting, interactive in-store experience for families and to introduce a curated range of toys, games, and accessories from popular brands such as LEGO, Pokémon, Hot Wheels and more. To celebrate the launch, Hobbycraft and Toys“R”Us will host a free, family-friendly grand opening event on Saturday December 6 featuring goody bags, entertainment, activities and more for the local community, beginning at 9am.

The shop-in-shop concept strengthens Toys“R”Us’ growing presence within UK retail spaces, with Hobbycraft chosen as a key partner thanks to its strong family appeal, vibrant bright store environments, and convenient retail park locations. Alongside the new area, the store will continue to offer an extensive Hobbycraft range, including papercraft supplies, kids’ craft kits, clay and jewellery tools, knitting and crochet essentials, and a selection of craft workshops for all ages.

Local residents can visit the Hobbycraft store and attend the event at UA3 Chelmer Village Retail Pk, Chelmers Village Way, Chelmsford, CM2 6XE, kicking off from 9am and finishing at 1pm. The store will remain open until 6pm.
