Recap: A500 updates as crash shuts road in ‘both directions’

A smash has shut a stretch of the A500 in both directions. The collision has occurred on the stretch between the roundabout by the M6 and Meremoor Moss roundabout in Weston.

Motorists are being warned the collision has resulted in a closure affecting both directions. An alert was issued by traffic monitoring system Inrix at 9.30am.

It states: “The A500 is blocked in both directions. There is queuing traffic due to an accident from the M6 J16 (Stoke-on-Trent/Crewe, Barthomley ) to the A531 (Meremoor Moss roundabout, Weston).”
