Police called in after ‘parcel delivered to closed-down shop’

The parcel was stranded

Police have been called in – over a stranded parcel. It was reported that the parcel had been delivered to Kidsgrove Post Office, on Market Street, in Kidsgrove.

But the Post Office has confirmed that the branch has been closed since February.

The complaint over the stranded parcel was lodged on November 24.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We received a report that a parcel had been delivered to a closed-down shop in Kidsgrove. Officers worked with the victim to provide her with a crime reference number so they could claim a refund.”

Customers affected by the closure of Kidsgrove Post Office are being directed to branches in Butt Lane and Goldenhill.
