Jackie Bailie thanks postal workers for Christmas deliveries

Jackie Baillie, who is also deputy leader of Scottish Labour, visited the Royal Mail delivery office in Alexandria last week to thank staff.

She said: “I have been coming to visit our hard-working posties annually for many years and I am aware of the effort they put in to ensuring residents receive all their festive post and parcels.

“There can be few more hard-working than those at the Alexandria and Helensburgh sorting offices.”

During her visit, Ms Baillie spent time chatting with the staff who give their all over the festive period to sort and deliver.

The MSP said: “Christmas is, without doubt, one of the busiest times of year for our committed posties and they continue to make every effort to ensure local residents receive all their cards, correspondence and parcels, irrespective of the weather.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to all those hard-working posties who continue to exceed expectations to ensure thousands of deliveries are made in time for Christmas.”
