Planning round-up: Apartments get go-ahead

EIGHT new apartments are set to be created in the area.

An application to reconfigure a unit on High Street in Wombwell – to create a mix of one, two-bed and studio apartments – was submitted to the council in April.

Barnsley Council’s planning board approved the application last week.

TWO new houses are set to be built in Silkstone Common after plans were approved by the council. An application for work to take place of Ben Bank Road was submitted in March. These plans were given the green light by the planning board earlier this week.

AN extension is set to be added to the Royal Mail building in Brierley. An application for work to take place at the site, on Church Street, was submitted to the council in October 2024. These plans were approved by the planning board last week.

AN agricultural building is set to be built in Silkstone after plans were approved. An application for work to take place on Lower Coates Farm, on Blacker Green Lane, was submitted to the council in December. These plans were approved recently.

PLANS to turn an office into a house have been approved by the council. An application for work to take place on Sheffield Road was submitted in November. These plans were given the green light by the council’s planning board last week.

PLANS to demolish a Royston conservatory and replace it with an extension have been approved by the council. An application for work to take place on Oakwood Avenue was submitted to the planning board in October. The plans were given the green light by Barnsley Council’s planning board earlier this week.
