Boy, 14, ‘throwing snowballs’ punched by man in bus shelter

Police are appealing for witnesses

Police are hunting a man who punched a teenager for ‘throwing snowballs’. Officers say a 14-year-old boy was throwing snowballs at the back of a bus shelter with a friend in Alsager when a stranger launched his attack.

They say he vaulted a wall and struck the boy, who was left injured. Now Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened close to former Bank Corner restaurant on Lawton Road at around 5.30pm yesterday (January 6).

A force spokesman said: “A 14-year-old boy was standing behind the bus shelter at The Bank Corner on Lawton Road in Alsager throwing snowballs at the back of the shelter with a friend. A man standing in the shelter jumped over a wall and punched the boy causing an injury.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website quoting IML 2246913.
