Royal Mail warn of delivery delays in Hockley today

Those living in Hockley, postcode SS5, may experience disruptions to their mail delivery.

Royal Mail has said the delays could be due to “high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.”

A spokesperson for Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

“We will regularly update customers on the offices most impacted.”

Many other postcodes were listed among Hockley, however none were also in the south Essex region.

If you need to collect an item for which we’ve left a ‘Something for You’ card are urged to visit a nearby collection point.

Details on location and opening times can be found on their website.
