Their Majesties extend royal concern after Nakhon Ratchasima train accident

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen have expressed condolences to the families of those killed and concern for the injured following a crane collapse onto a passenger train in Nakhon Ratchasima, with victims placed under Royal Patronage and financial assistance granted for funeral arrangements.

BANGKOK, Thailand – His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen have graciously expressed concern following a train accident in Nakhon Ratchasima province in which a construction crane collapsed onto Special Express Train No. 21, resulting in multiple injuries and fatalities.

The incident occurred in Sikhio district when a crane used for a high-speed rail project fell onto a passing train, resulting in a fire and derailment. Emergency responders and medical teams were dispatched to assist those affected.

Upon being informed, Their Majesties closely followed developments and conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased, as well as concern for the injured and their relatives.

In response, His Majesty the King has placed all injured victims under Royal Patronage as Royal Patients to ensure proper medical care. The remains of those who lost their lives have also been placed under Royal Patronage.

His Majesty has also granted financial assistance of 20,000 baht per case for funeral arrangements to the families of each deceased victim, extending royal compassion and support during the recovery period. (NNT)
