Royal Mail has issued a crucial notice impacting households nationwide. The postal service has revealed numerous postcodes currently experiencing disruption to deliveries.
As of Friday, January 23, some 121 postcodes are facing delays spanning England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. While Royal Mail confirmed its air network is running to schedule, its road network has encountered setbacks.
Some post was incorrectly routed and ended up at their Scottish hub by mistake instead of Northern Ireland.
Royal Mail has cautioned residents that their post may now turn up later than anticipated. Birmingham Mail Centre has not managed to process and dispatch all mail on time, reports the Express.
The firm stated: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.”
They said: “In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.
“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”
The company routinely refreshes their website with the most recent affected locations, providing details of the depot and postcodes hit by disruption.
At present, 38 depots are experiencing disruptions which is having a knock-on impact on postcodes in the surrounding areas.
