A Royal Mail van pictured within the scene is believed to have been involved
These images show the aftermath of a crash between a Royal Mail van and a car. Emergency services were called to the A663 Broadway in Chadderton, Oldham, at 8am on Saturday morning (January 31).
The road was closed by police between the A627 Elk Mill Roundabout to the A669. Police and fire crews were at the scene. Both drivers were assessed by paramedics, but fortunately no injuries were reported.

In pictures taken of the aftermath, the front drivers side of the car looks severely damage. There is also debris in the road. A Royal Mail van within the scene is also believed to have been involved in the collision.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 8am this morning (Saturday 31st January), one fire engine from Chadderton fire station was called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a truck on Broadway, Chadderton.
“The crew arrived quickly at the scene. Firefighters using a Tirfor Winch worked with colleagues from Greater Manchester Police to make the vehicle and area safe. Both drivers were assessed at the scene by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.
“Firefighters were in attendance for around thirty minutes.”
The road reopened by 10am.
