Four eateries across the countries were singled out.
An Aberdeen restaurant has been newly honoured with a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which recognise “good food at a great price”.
Michelin announced its 37 new Bib Gourmands in Great Britain and Ireland for 2026 ahead the Michelin Guide Ceremony ahead of the Michelin Guide Ceremony next week where the new Michelin Stars for the year will be announced.
A total of four Scottish eateries have received prestigious Bib Gourmands, with one of the restaurants singled out by Michelin in Aberdeen.
Mara in Aberdeen city centre was recognised in the list of the 37 new Bib Gourmands where it was praised as a “true gem” and lauded for its “100 per cent Italian wine list” and delicious menu, the Record reports.
The Italian wine bar and bottle shop specialises in small plates that utilise fresh Scottish produce, with dishes available including peppered mackerel, venison loin, and parmesan gnocchi.
The experts stated: “A true gem of the Aberdeen dining scene, Mara offers a sumptuous taste of Italy. Alongside a 100 per cent Italian wine list (there’s a bottle shop here too), the menu features the likes of parmesan gnocchi with black garlic and truffle, smoked aubergine pizzette, and of course the signature ‘Mara-ncini’ with a beautiful golden crust and moreish cheesy filling.”
