Shaun Davies, Member of Parliament for Telford, is continuing to press for urgent improvements to the postal service in Telford following significant delays to residents post since before Christmas.
After sharing Telford residents’ concerns with Blair McDougall, the Minister responsible for Royal Mail, these reports have been relayed to the postal organisation by the Minister, stressing that residents have missed hospital appointments and have not received essential post.
Royal Mail have acknowledged that the delays are unacceptable and have assured that they are working hard to prioritise essential mail deliveries, particularly NHS correspondence.
Shaun recognises the severity of the delays and the stress that this poses for Telford residents. He has raised concerns in Parliament, written to Ofcom and met with Royal Mail himself to accelerate the issue – this is the next step in working towards restoring service.
Shaun commented “I am committed to seeing an improvement in these delays. I know the worry that this is causing residents and local businesses – they are continuing to share their frustrating experiences with me, and I will keep pushing to reach for a solution to this disruption.”
The Telford MP is continuing to encourage residents to keep sharing their experiences by emailing [email protected] to inform him if there have been any updates over the past week.
