The letter and parcel delivery firm has updated its list of areas affected by delays.
Royal Mail has warned anyone living in certain UK postcodes that they won’t receive their mail on time. The delivery firm aims to post letters and parcels six days a week.
However, it has revealed there’s been delays across the network that will affect certain areas. Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.
“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.
“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”
It updates customers everyday on issues that may delay post. As of Tuesday, 24 February, 18 Royal Mail delivery offices are experiencing delays.
These are right across the UK, including Cardiff, Pontefract, Lochgelly and Lisburn.
Delays in the delivery offices mean 44 UK postcodes are currently experiencing a delay with their mail.
Their air network has ran to schedule the past 24 hours, but the road network saw some issues. Royal Mail explained: “Last night a vehicle was late departing the Midlands Parcel Hub for Preston and Glasgow Mail Centres.
“As a result, some mail due for delivery in the BB, FY, LA, PR, G, KA, ML and PA postcode areas may be arrive later than planned.”
Bristol Mail Centre saw some mail posted in parts of the BA, BS, GL and TA postcode areas, due for delivery across other parts of the UK.
