A number of postcodes in the Sunderland area have been listed among UK areas where there could be delivery delays
Royal Mail has warned that some UK areas could experience delivery disruption on Friday, March 13. And several North East postcodes are also on the list.
The areas affected today are in the Sunderland area. The full list of postcodes from across the UK as well as North East is provided below.
The postal service typically aims to deliver letters and parcels six days per week. However, it has acknowledged there could be delays in particular areas. This comes as Royal Mail announced a rise in the price of stamps from April, as reported by ChronicleLive.
Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. We will regularly update customers on the offices most impacted here (Royal Mail website).”
