Royal Mail delays affecting 9 Merseyside postcodes today — check full list of areas

There’s delivery disruptions across Merseyside

Royal Mail delays have impacted postcodes throughout Merseyside. The postal service has shared a list of regions currently experiencing disruptions, resulting in delayed mail delivery for residences and businesses in those areas.

Royal Mail aims to deliver letters and parcels six days a week, but it has encountered numerous disruptions across the UK. As of Monday, March 16, Royal Mail’s air and road network is reported to have operated according to schedule over the past 24 hours.

However, Birmingham Mail Centre has indicated that not all of its mail was processed and dispatched on time over the weekend.

Specifically, mail posted on Friday in the B, HR and WR postcode areas, intended for Saturday delivery, may not have arrived as scheduled.

Royal Mail stated: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors,” reports the Mirror.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”

At present, Royal Mail reports delays at 20 depots scattered across the UK, including in Heswall, Prenton, New Ferry and Upton.

The disruption has impacted 63 postcode areas, resulting in residents across parts of England, Wales and Scotland experiencing delayed mail deliveries.

The hold-ups arrive as Royal Mail prepares to raise stamp prices next month.
