A key update has been issued on Swindon’s major new warehouse construction project Panattoni Park.
Energy infrastructure firm Sinewave installed a whopping 20,000m of high-voltage cable around 360 acres of the warehousing site under construction in South Marston.
This loop will provide power to more than seven million sq ft of industrial estate and has additional access points for future connections, including an additional four substations.
Chief operating officer Ashley Hutchinson said recently: “This project has been one of the longer-running within the 11kV team at Sinewave.
“It’s on our doorstep in Swindon [and] not only do we get a sense of pride from the project itself working for SSE Energy Solutions but this is doubled as it is a massive part of Swindon’s regeneration.

“The site is fast becoming a business hub, bringing manufacturing (and other) jobs back to the town, and with significant local engagement from Swindon Borough Council and from Westminster with [Swindon North MP] Will Stone.
“This project will live long in the memories as one we are super proud of. Shout out to all our team that have delivered on or contributed to this project.”
Plus, B Lab awarded Sinewave B Corp certification to prove that it meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
A minimum score of 80 is required to qualify, with the median UK company scoring 50.9, though Sinewave has boosted its score to 99.3.
Chief executive Adam Woodley added: “Our B Corp recertification and score reflect the hard work of our whole team and, together with our Sunday Times fastest-growing private companies award, show that our growth won’t come at the cost of sustainability.
“As the UK accelerates its build-out of energy infrastructure to meet net zero targets and clean power goals, it’s never been more important for businesses like ours to lead by example in how we operate, and how we help our customers reduce their emissions in the process.”
Since achieving its first B Corp certification three years ago, Sinewave has diverted 77 per cent of its waste from landfill, regenerated 4,000 litres of waste oil, and achieved full compliance with Simpler Recycling at all sites.
Its bespoke tracking platform Sinewave Switch provides a project-by-project breakdown of emissions to achieve carbon-neutral delivery.
The company has also committed to a 10 per cent year-on-year carbon reduction target and is increasing its use of circular construction materials.
