Stamp rush: Prices rise two cents beginning Monday IRON MOUNTAIN – Today is the last day to purchase Forever Stamps at 42 cents. Beginning on Monday, the cost of a first-class stamp will be 44 cents. The U.S. Postal Service announced in February that the price of a first-class stamp would increase 2 cents effective May 1.
