Several Solano County auto executives who sell General Motors vehicles waited anxiously Friday morning for a FedEx envelope that would land them among the 1,100 dealers – one in five – that the Detroit automaker plans to drop by late next year. All apparently escaped the throat-lumping task of opening the letter and having to break such grim news to their employees.
