Chicago–and U.S.–losing last 24-hour post office (Chicago Tribune)

The nation will lose its last 24-hour post office June 6, when the U.S. Postal Service plans to end overnight window service in Chicago. The facility at 433 W. Harrison St. has been the last American post office with 24-hour tellers, a distinction it has held since May 9, when New York’s main branch closed its overnight counters.
