An accumulation of creosol caused a small fire to flare up this afternoon in a vent at the old Chicago post office. No one was hurt, but the fire caused “some smoke to be seen,” said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford. The fire erupted about noon at the West Van Buren Street post office.
