Roof work sets fire to post office (Tribune Chronicle)

WARREN – While Postmaster Thomas Kerns was at home raking leaves on his Columbus Day holiday, Warren firefighters were dousing flames on the rooftop of his post office. The fire – sparked by workers using torches as part of a roof replacement project – wasn’t enough to damage any mail or delay delivery to residents when the 201 High St. N.E. office opens for business today, Kerns said.
