Post office closes; box holders sent to Piercefield (Adirondack Daily Enterprise)

Citing “reasons of sanitation and safety,” the U.S. Postal Service shut down the Childwold post office at the end of the day Friday. This tiny Adirondack hamlet’s 30 or so box holders will now have to go to the Piercefield post office, six miles away.
