A Guildford Post Office is reopening after nearly six month closure but won’t be ready for Christmas

A Guildford post office is reopening after nearly six months of closure. While it won’t be serving customers in time for Christmas, the restored store has announced its opening date for 2025.

The branch closed in July due to the resignation of the operator, but the store has now been taken over by Campus Co-operative. This means that Post Office services are being restored at GU2 7XH.

It is due to re-open on Tuesday 14 January at 1pm, and will join several other Post Offices in Guildford such as the branch in Woodbridge Hill, the High Street, and Park Barn.

Its opening hours are set to be Monday to Friday: 9am – 5pm, with the Post Office closed at weekends. This will mean that there are 40 hours of Post Office service a week.

Graham Brander, Post Office Area Change Manager, said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring a Post Office to the University of Surrey as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.”

Posting on social media Guildford’s MP Zoe Franklin said that the repopening was “good news” and that the branch would provide a range of Post Office products and services.
