Two people remain in hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A39 in Cornwall on Saturday, police have said this morning.
The road, the main route between the A30 at Carland Cross and Truro, was closed for several hours while police conducted a serious collision investigation.
On Saturday a spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident involved a car and a Royal Mail post van.
“There have been potentially three casualties – one male and two elderly people,” said the spokesperson.
This morning a spokesman updated: “Police were called to a serious collision on the A39 near Buckshead, Truro, around 10.30am on Saturday 12 September.
“The collision involved three vehicles and three casualties were taken to Treliske Hospital. Two people remain in hospital with serious injuries.”
Response officers, as well as officers from the roads policing team, attended and a forensic examination of the scene was conducted.
“Police would ask that if anyone has witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant dash camera footage, and not already spoken with police, that they make contact quoting log 0376 of 12/09/20,” added the spokesperson.
“Once a full examination of the scene was conducted the road was re-opened. Police would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.”
