A9 closed at Badenoch junction after three-vehicle crash

Emergency services have been called to a crash site on the A9 near Newtonmore.

Traffic Scotland are advising motorists to avoid the area meantime

Traffic Scotland have confirmed the road has closed in both north and south directions.

The closure came at 1.19pm at the Raliabeg-Ettridge junction.

“The A9 Ralia is closed in both directions to all traffic, between Newtonmore and Etteridge, due to a road traffic incident,” a Traffic Scotland spokesperson confirmed.

“Road users are advised to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware around 12.45pm on Thursday, 27 July of a crash involving three vehicles on the A9 near the Ralia Junction, close to Newtonmore.

“The road is currently closed and emergency services are at the scene.”
