Royal Mail has warned of the disruption to their system due to staff absences caused by sickness and resourcing issues, with multiple postcodes across the north-east affected.
Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire continue to experience delivery delays across much of the region as thousands order their last-minute Christmas parcels.
Royal Mail has warned of the disruption to their system due to staff absences caused by sickness and resourcing issues. Multiple postcodes across the north-east are affected.
An update by Royal Mail issued on their website reads: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. We will regularly update customers on the offices most impacted.”
The Aberdeen areas and postcodes affected
- Aboyne SUDO (AB34)
- Altens DO (AB10, AB11, AB12 and AB35)
- Dyce DO (AB21)
- Westhill DO (AB13, AB14 and AB32)
The delay comes with Christmas just one week away as millions rush to post last-minute gifts and cards ahead of the big day.
Royal Mail is also reminding people to be wary of the last posting dates ahead of Christmas, which you can read more on here.
